[2-in-1 Sensor] The Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2’s built-in infrared and light sensor monitors the presence of people in an area, and monitors the lighting values, allowing you to easily achieve automation for various tasks in your home, such as flexible automations for curtains and lighting. Compared to the Aqara motion sensor P1, the Motion and Light P2 includes a separate light sensor that can be used independently for automations, apart from motion detection, and is compatible with Matter. (*NOTE: Alexa DOESN’T SUPPORT light sensor functionality)
[Wide Viewing Angle & Detection Range] The P2 sensor can detect movement across a wider area range of up to 7 meters/23 feet, at an angle of up to 170° horizontally, and 45° vertically. The data is from laboratory testing, conducted in a 25 °C / 77 °F environment. It also comes with a versatile 360° stand, that allows you to easily adjust the viewing angle, and it can only trigger the sensor when it’s needed. The detection angle and the sensitivity may vary depending on the ambient temperature and the distance. The device comes with medium sensitivity by default, but you can set the various sensitivity levels on the Aqara Home APP later according to seasonal changes or needs.

Where should Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 be installed and how to install it?
1. Install in areas where it is necessary to detect whether there are people,such as living rooms and bedrooms (please refer to the Motion Sensor detection distance in the manual when installing); 2. It can be placed on the surface of coffee table 、 shoe cabinet 、 desk,etc.,but must be close to the edge (recommended installation height is 1.2m ~ 2.0m); 3. Do not place it on a metal surface,and do not place obstructions in front of the Motion and Light Sensor P2.
What are the precautions for installing Motion and Light Sensor P2?
1. Please do not install it on smooth and moisture-prone surfaces such as ceramic tiles 、 glass 、 marble to avoid the adhesive from falling off; 2. Please do not install it on the surface of high-temperature 、 heating objects such as lighting tubes to prevent the adhesive from falling off; 3. Please do not install it on rough 、 uneven surfaces such as wall coverings to prevent the adhesive from falling off; 4. Do not face heating objects such as electrical appliances when installing to avoid false triggering caused by infrared interference.
How to reset Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2?
Press and hold the button of the device for 5 seconds, the indicator light flashes fast, release the button within 3 seconds, the device reset is complete.
What is the reason for the connection failure of Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2? How should I reconnect?
1. Operation error,please refer to the device adding method again and add the device again; 2. The distance from the hub is too far and the network communication effect is poor. Move the device closer to the hub and then add the device again; 3. The hub device used does not support the Thread protocol. Please choose a hub that supports the Thread protocol according to the official introduction.
Why does the indicator light of Motion and Light Sensor P2 change from blue to red?
Battery is low.
If a pet enters the detection area of the Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2, will the sensor be triggered?
Yes,if you don’t want to be triggered by pets,you can install the Motion and Light Sensor P2 in a higher place according to the detection range diagram described in the manual,so that the sensor will not be triggered when pets are active on the ground. (Please refer to the manual for specific installation mode).
Why does the device report that someone is passing by when no one is passing by?
1. There are heating objects in the detection area of Motion and Light Sensor P2 that interfere with infrared detection; 2. Motion and Light Sensor P2 detects hot and cold air flowing with a large temperature difference in the detection area.
Under what circumstances will Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 often go offline?
Possible reason: 1. The device is far away from the hub and the communication effect is poor. Please move the device closer to the hub; 2. The battery is low or dead,please replace it with a new battery; 3. Equipment mounted on metal surfaces, signal interference.
Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 does not respond,but the indicator light flashes normally when the reset button is pressed. What is the reason?
Possible reason: 1. The PIR probe or lens is damaged; 2. At this time,the device is in the trigger interval; 3. The device is offline,please confirm whether the connection between the device and the hub is normal.
How to use the “Detection Time Interval”
Detection time interval"is to set the shortest trigger time from the previous"someone passing"event to the next"someone passing"event. The motion time interval is 1 minute,that is,after detection someone,it will not be detection again within 1 minute. Someone is moving. The illumination detection interval is 30 seconds.
